Changing Quantum Basis States

Now that we have ordinary vectors under control, we’re ready to apply the same ideas to quantum basis state vectors in state space. To make the connection obvious, let’s use similar symbols to get started. Suppose that $|F⟩$ is a quantum state vector and the unit vectors $|x⟩$ and $|y⟩$ are basis state vectors in a state space.
