QC and QIS Overview

We want to congratulate you, Cardy and our dedicated readers, on your persistence through a lot of challenging material. You should be proud of your work. Both Bob and I hope that you will continue your studies of QIS and QC. In this chapter, we suggest several “next steps” you might take to deepen your understanding of QIS and QC. We will also talk about programming quantum computers and developments such as the quantum internet. A quick survey of current QC and QIS technology will give you a sense of the broad range of skills deployed in those fields. We will also rub the quantum crystal ball to suggest areas of QIS and QC to keep an eye on over the next few years, and consider some ethical issues that are important in QIS and QC.
