Objectives

In this section, we will begin to work with an original dataset used in actual data analysis. Working with an original dataset helps us to observe the whole process from importing data to reporting statistical results. For illustration purposes, we will focus on the following research question: Do countries that are more open to international trade grow faster economically and have higher income? To address this question empirically, we will first need to find a dataset that contains both measures of trade openness (i.e., $\frac{exports+imports}{GDP}$) and economic growth and then GDP get data ready for statistical analysis. Getting data ready involves importing, inspecting, and managing data. Therefore, in this section, we will aim to achieve the following objectives:
