# What is a neural network?
Neural networks are multi-layer networks of neurons that we use to classify and make predictions. 

Neural network comprises of an input layer, hidden layer, and an output layer. 

- **Input units**: The input units represents the raw information that is fed into the network. This input units make the input layer of neural network.

  The layer next to input layer is the hidden layer which is comprised of hidden units.

- **Hidden units:** 

  The hidden unit output is generated by the  weights on the connections between the input and the hidden units. 

  The layer next to hidden layer is the output layer which is comprised of output units.

- **Output units**: 

  The output units  represents the output generated by the hidden units and the weights between the hidden and output units. 

  Thus the linear models in the hidden layer combine to obtain a non-linear model.
