Using the Simple DataFlow Extension for ADS
Let's see how to install and use the Simple DataFlow Extension in ADS.
We'll cover the following
Introduction
To demonstrate an even deeper integration with Azure Data Studio, we’ll introduce an extension. This extension will implement a Front-end to our PowerShell dataflow script, providing some creature comforts for selecting connections and table specifications.
To help you get started with this extension in Azure Data Studio, we have added extra content in the Appendix.
Our simple dataflow extension for ADS can be downloaded from the official Extension Marketplace inside of Azure Data Studio. To find it, click on the “Extensions” icon in the Activity bar, and in the search textbox at the top of the side bar, type “eltsnap”, or “dataflow”. You should see the extension from BI Tracks pop-up called: eltsnap: Simple Dataflow. Click on the “Install” button, and then click “Open”.
This will take you to the official GitHub site, which hosts this ADS extension. Click on the eltsnap-simple-data-flow-1.0.1.vsix (or later) link, which will download the extension to your local machine.
To install in ADS, click on the Extensions icon on the Activity bar, click on the ellipsis ("…"), and then click on “Install from VSIX,” as shown below:
