Getting Support in R

Learn key resources for getting support in R, and how to become an active participant in the R community.

We'll cover the following

There’s a sizeable statistical community around R and that’s one of the big positives about working in the language. And because that large community exists, and because R is being applied in a lot of different contexts—from business analytics to academic research, from deep machine learning to simple statistical summaries, and from geographic applications to sports, health, marketing, and psychology—there’s a vast range of resources available for support.

Many of those resources aren’t very helpful until we have a good foundation in R, which we built here. But, as we move on from this course in our careers, we’ll require particular statistical advice, ideas about what packages exist in a specific area of research, or just the nitty gritty of why something isn’t working.

For data scientists, there are two big buckets of resources.
