Introduction: Team Practices

Overview

In this lesson, we'll discuss how some online channels can promote a healthy environment within a team and, in turn, stimulate smooth development. Apart from development conventions, there are various other practices we can follow. We'll discuss those first and proceed to other practices later on in this chapter.

Daily learning

Slack is one example of a useful resource for daily learning and communication within and between teams. For example, adding a "Today I Learned" channel in Slack is helping for sharing new knowledge and information. This seems to work far better than other knowledge-sharing techniques. And since most discussions happen in public channels, so you don’t need to waste time catching up with each person you add to the conversation.
