# Overview

We will look at one of the multiple hosting choices available when hosting a Gatsby site.

**Gatsby Cloud** is a cloud platform developed by the Gatsby team to build and deploy Gatsby sites. Gatsby sites hosted by this cloud platform have load times of just milliseconds, according to Gatsby.

# Getting started with Gatsby Cloud

We need to have a Gatsby account to use the Gatsby cloud. Most of our other activities go on in this account’s dashboard.

- To create an account—or to log in if we have one already—we visit their [sign up](https://www.gatsbyjs.com/dashboard/signup) page and select the authorization method.
 
- We are redirected to our provider’s authorization page, where we must grant access to the Gatsby Cloud application.

- After clicking the “Authorize” button, we will be asked to fill in the required fields and select why we are using Gatsby (“Personal Project” is fine), and select “Complete sign up.”
 
- When this is done, we get to the dashboard with the text, “You don’t seem to have any sites.”
