How to find a video’s ID

Finding the video ID of a YouTube video is essential to fully utilize the YouTube Data API. Follow the steps below to find a video’s ID. For this demonstration, we’ll use a video from the Educative Sessions YouTube channel.

Step 1: Searching for a video

Go to the YouTube website and search for any video.

Step 2: Selecting the video

From the search results, select the video whose ID you want to find. Click it and move to the next page.

Step 3: Locating the video ID

On the video page, go to the video URL. The video ID will be the value after the v parameter.

Copy this ID and use it anywhere you want in the course. Follow the same steps if you want to find the video ID of any other YouTube video.
