Facebook Graph API Overview
Learn what the Graph API is and where we can use it.
We'll cover the following
What is Facebook?
Facebook is an online platform for social interaction and networking, enabling users to establish connections with acquaintances, family, and friends. It offers features like photo and video sharing, messaging, and news feeds to keep users updated. It was launched in 2004 and has become one of the world's largest and most popular social networking sites. Users can create profiles, add friends, and communicate with them. Users can also create groups to connect with like-minded people and organize events. The platform also includes features such as a news feed, where users can see updates from their friends and pages they follow and a marketplace where users can buy and sell items.
What is Facebook's Graph API?
The Facebook Graph API is a programming interface that allows us to retrieve data from and interact with Facebook's social graph. It enables us to access data from Facebook's social network and build apps, tools, and other experiences that integrate with Facebook.
Using the Facebook Graph API endpoints, we can:
View users' profiles, feeds, likes, and user posts.
Access users' pages and their ratings and insights.
Upload photos, videos, and reels on users' pages and groups.
Broadcast live videos on users' feeds.
