DB instance

DB instance in Amazon RDS is an isolated database environment and a basic building block of RDS. A single DB instance can have multiple databases, which can be accessed using client tools and applications. There can be multiple DB instances grouped together under a single cluster. Database instances can be spread across multiple Availability Zones to achieve high availability.
