# Configure an error page using the AWS CLI
Remember the dull error page that was shown by the S3 hosted website when we tried to access the URL with a trailing slash after the _`dingo.jpg`_ key?

S3 also allows us to configure a custom error page that is returned whenever an error is encountered with a status code belonging to the [HTTP 4xx class](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status#client_error_responses).


First, we need to upload an `error.html` error page as an object:
