Course Organization and Tools

The tools we’ll use

In this course, we’ll set up Rails with Webpacker to serve JavaScript and CSS to the browser. This allows us to write code that will affect our browser. We’re going to talk about two different frameworks that have very different approaches: Hotwire and React.

We will also use three foundational tools to build the infrastructure of our application, no matter what JavaScript frameworks we use on top: TypeScript, webpack (lowercase), and Webpacker (uppercase).
