Cartoonify a Face

Introduction

Cartoonifying or giving cartoon effects to face photos has become a trend worldwide. This is apparent when surfing on social network platforms and seeing cartoon-like profile pictures.

Many applications will allow us to add cartoon effects to our photos, such as the following:

Objective

This lesson aims to take advantage of the potential of AI and deep learning in order to localize faces in a digital image. Once the faces are detected, we execute a process to give them cartoon effects.

As a general rule, when adding cartoon effects to a face image, the resulting image will hold a smaller amount of distinct colors compared to the original image.
