Learn about Polya’s steps to solve a problem with the help of a puzzle.

Problem solving

George Polya taught us four steps in solving problems. Solving a logical puzzle involves:

  1. Understanding the problem

  2. Devising a strategy or a plan for solving the problem

  3. Executing the plan

  4. Reviewing the solution

Understanding the problem

The problem is that you must solve the mystery of a missing crown from the museum. There are three possible accused, and you have their individual recorded statements. Somehow, you know that only one has the crown, only one is telling the truth, and the other two are uttering false statements. You must find the missing crown logically, fulfilling the abovementioned constraints.
