Software as a Service (SaaS)

Learn about the SaaS cloud service model and its advantages and disadvantages.

Overview

With software as a service (SaaS), the cloud provider runs and manages the entire stack. SaaS can be run in a multi-tenant architecture. With a SaaS, the team doesn’t have to think about the internal workings of the service or infrastructure; all that’s important is how to use the service we need. A common example of a SaaS application is a cloud-based media management service where we can store media for our web applications without thinking about the infrastructure needed to store all the data.
