There are times when we have to test the website’s performance under different network bandwidth and speed. For that, we intentionally slow or increase the network bandwidth to simulate and examine the software response and behavior under varying speeds.

Why is it needed?

Internet and network technologies have improved a lot in the last 10 years. Many companies are taking the mobile-first approach since most of their traffic comes from mobile users, especially in the case of e-commerce companies.

Having said that, it is very important to monitor and optimize a website’s experience under various network conditions to identify the performance issues that may degrade a user’s experience across a wider variety of network connections.
