What it's All About
In this lesson, we'll get a brief overview of what achieving rich user experience via HTML5 is all about. Let's begin!
We'll cover the following
Before HTML5, web page developers and designers had to use the constrained toolset of HTML to provide great-looking web pages. This led to unordinary solutions that were often hard to read, and laborious to maintain.
For example, designers used tables to position standard elements, such as headers, footers, navigation bars, sidebars, etc.
Video and audio were not the standard parts of the markup language (can you imagine any great websites today without providing video at all?) they had to be “hacked” into web pages with the <object>
and <embed>
tags.
