The tech industry is growing rapidly in Pakistan, yet women make up less than 14% of the workforce. Cultural expectations, limited mentorship, and systemic challenges continue to create barriers. But a new generation of women is breaking through, proving that talent and perseverance know no gender.

At Educative, we believe women in tech shouldn’t just be included, they should be leading. We are committed to hiring, mentoring, and empowering women in technical roles, ensuring their voices shape the future of technology

Fueled by passion, guided by ambition#

With determination and resilience, they are carving their paths in an industry that is evolving rapidly, proving that talent and perseverance know no gender.

Mahnoor, a software engineer at Educative, expresses passion for technology as she explains, “I was drawn to tech because it’s one of the few fields where curiosity turns into creation—where logic and creativity come together to solve real-world challenges. I love how technology can simplify complex problems and how every new challenge presents an opportunity to learn, experiment, and refine ideas.”

Mahnoor’s words are a powerful reflection of how, despite societal constraints, many women relentlessly pursue careers in technology driven purely by their passion for the field. She goes on to say:

“What ultimately solidified my decision was how empowering technology is. Just a laptop and an idea can turn into something impactful, and the fact that I can build, innovate, and contribute to something greater, all from my own space, made me realize this was the right path for me.”

In a world where traditional expectations often stand as obstacles, these women challenge norms, defy stereotypes, and carve their own paths. Talia Qaiser, Product Analyst at Educative, champions the power of authenticity and says:

“No matter what anyone says, never lose your sparkle. Be true to yourself, everything else comes second. It is highly important to know that you are not alone; you can and should ask for help. We are part of a community where our job is to work with each other, not in isolation. Explore fearlessly and never shy away from raising your concerns.”

Their journeys serve as a testament that when your soul is deeply connected to a dream, no barrier, whether cultural, social, or systemic, can truly hold you back.

Both Mahnoor and Talia hope to inspire other women to pursue their dreams in tech.

A supportive environment#

Gender bias remains a challenge in tech, but at Educative, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive culture where women thrive, lead, and make an impact.

Rabia Sirhindi, a Content Architect Lead, emphasizes Educative’s commitment to diversity, explaining that the company actively promotes women into leadership and includes them in key decisions. “Educative truly believes in a diverse workforce,” she says. “By giving women leadership roles and involving them in critical decision-making, it proves its commitment to inclusivity.”

Women at Educative aren’t just present—they’re shaping the future of tech education. Aiman Fiaz, Technical Project Coordinator, highlights how the company values contributions over gender. “I don’t see people here focusing on who is speaking, but rather what is being said,” she explains. “That’s powerful. The culture prioritizes mentorship, growth, and inclusion—ensuring ideas are welcomed regardless of gender.”

For Software Engineer Fatima Tahseen, workplace equality isn’t just about representation—it’s about fair pay, leadership opportunities, and valuing ideas over stereotypes. She puts it simply:

“True equality means women don’t just have a seat at the table, they are encouraged to lead and thrive without bias.”

Here's her advice for women entering tech: “It may be a male-dominated industry, but that has nothing to do with your ability to excel. Trust yourself and be ready to outshine everyone.”

The importance of female leadership#

At Educative, we believe female leadership is key to an inclusive workplace. We prioritize placing women in leadership roles and ensure equal opportunities for all employees through fair evaluations, equal pay, and clear pathways for advancement.

Reflecting on her career at Educative, Aiman shares how early female leadership shaped her own approach to teamwork.

“My first lead here was a woman. Watching her lead a talented team in a male-dominated field was remarkable. She proved that expertise and leadership aren’t bound by gender.” Aiman Fiaz

Educative is committed to dismantling stereotypes that limit women’s advancement in tech. Rabia highlights the impact of female leadership on her career, saying,

“Women leaders have empowered me to experiment, grow, and balance my career with my responsibilities as a parent. Their advocacy has helped me thrive.” Rabia Sirhindi

For Talia, mentorship is key:

“The most valuable lesson I’ve learned from female mentors is balance—combining respect, integrity, and hard work with technical skills. When women uplift other women, it creates a ripple effect that fosters a stronger, more inclusive tech community.” Talia Qaiser

When women lead, entire communities thrive. Educative is committed to fostering a culture where leadership is defined by skill, not gender—breaking barriers and setting a new standard for diversity in tech.

Opportunities for growth#

At Educative, we’re committed to creating more opportunities for women in tech by fostering a culture where they can learn, lead, and excel. We prioritize mentorship, professional development, and leadership pathways to ensure women have the support they need to advance.

Aiman emphasizes the role companies can play in closing the gender gap: “Companies in Pakistan can start by offering mentorship and professional development programs. Transparent career paths, inclusive hiring, and leadership opportunities can make a significant difference.”

A vision for the future#

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the resilience, determination, and achievements of women in tech. Their impact is shaping the industry for future generations, proving that innovation thrives with diversity.

At Educative, we’re proud to be part of this movement, championing inclusive practices, supportive environments, and ongoing education.

Together, we can build a future where women aren’t just represented in tech—they’re leading it.
