Final Project Description

For our final project, we'll build our own Treasure Hunt P2E, similar in its principle to BoneHeadz, a successful game that paid more than 36 ETH in prizes to players. Our game will have the added benefit of providing verifiable randomness via Chainlink's VRF. Additionally, it will have the following characteristics:

  • Access to the game is NFT gated.

  • The currency of the game is the native currency of the blockchain (ETH for Ethereum).

  • It's single-player, meaning each player competes separately.

  • Except for the use of the VRF and an eventual graphical user interface, the rest of the game is fully on-chain.

Game rules

Our tale takes place in the ancient kingdom of Whateva. King Randomus wrote his private Ethereum key on a parchment and cut it into six parts he hid in separate dungeons. Our hero must visit each dungeon to find its hidden part. But beware! Every time she enters a dungeon, she must make it out with the piece of parchment it contains or remain locked in it for a month.

Though outside the scope of this course, the story and lore of our games matter. It is worth considering, with the help of marketing-oriented people.
