# CSS colors
Another very useful resource is the X11 colors. This is a set of almost 150 named colors that are supported by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) commonly used to style HTML web pages) and SVG. CSS is commonly used to style HTML web pages.



In general, if we pick random RGB values, the resulting color might not be visually appealing. The X11 colors were carefully chosen to avoid the truly hideous combinations, and they have all been given evocative names along with standard RGB values. We wouldn’t want to paint our lounge in some of the CSS colors, but they can be helpful while looking for inspiration for a chart or diagram.
