Become a specialist

Many folks may disagree with this, but I strongly believe that finding a domain to become an expert in is the best way to retain your market value and have a fulfilling long-term career. By becoming a specialist, it will allow you to focus your time and energy on learning one domain and allows your knowledge to accumulate and compound over time. When switching contexts, it always comes at cost. So avoid doing this too many times. In addition, as you grow more senior, the roles also become much more specialized in nature and generalists are less in demand.
