Answers and assumptions

Facebook Events allows users to create events and attend events. It helps users discover things that interest them and connects them with other users, extending Facebook’s mission to bring the world closer together.

Facebook Events is mainly focused on social events between users and drawing promotional interests and customers from larger organizations. Given this distinction, I will assume that the latter is not an intended effect. The company has not yet monetized Facebook Events, except in a few small cases of integrating it with Ticketmaster to buy tickets directly on Facebook.
