End Punctuation

Learn about the most common types of end punctuation, when to use them, and when not to use them.

Introduction

All sentences, no matter their subject matter, must come to an end. The majority of your sentences will end with a full-stop, also known as a period. However, sometimes, it does not make sense to end a sentence with just a period. What about sentences that ask questions or command actionsFor example, GO!?

This brings us to four special punctuation marks: the period (.), the exclamation mark (!), the question mark (?), and the interrobang (?! or ‽).

In this lesson, we will explore the specific cases when we can and should use these punctuation marks, as well as the cases when we should not.
