Azure Pricing Calculator

Let’s look at the Azure Pricing calculator.

It’s a web-based calculator that helps us estimate our monthly costs and detailed insights on Azure once the entire infrastructure is set up.

Calculating costs in the TCO Calculator was a three-step process. Similarly, Azure Pricing calculator also follows three steps:

  1. Configuration: This step requires configuring the hardware, storage, databases, etc. It has three further subcomponents where the costs may vary:

    • Region: This specifies the region for the resource.

    • Tier: This specifies the pricing tier of the given resource.

    • Savings option: This specifies the saving options such as pay-as-you-go or reserve instances depending upon different choices.

  2. Support: It supports different tier options, and the prices associated with them are offered by Microsoft.

  3. Programmes and offers: It gives the option to select infrastructure on the dev/test pricing.

Benefits of Azure Pricing Calculator

Azure Pricing calculator offers several benefits:

  • It’s a web-based tool and is really easy to use.

  • It offers different options to add to our infrastructure e.g., VMs, storage, databases, etc., to estimate the cost.

  • We can have a complete visualization of estimated costs for our complete infrastructure.
