Creating an uptime check

When we created a Firebase project earlier to host the web application, it automatically created a corresponding Google Cloud Platform project (GCP). Without any additional effort, we are able to leverage all services provided by GCP. If you want to get a great overview of GCP’s every service described in 4 words or less, check this link.

We are interested in Cloud Monitoring, in which one of the features is called Uptime checks. To enable that:

1. Navigate to the Google Cloud console and log in with the same account you used to create the Firebase project earlier.

2. In the blue bar at the top, to the right of the Google Cloud Platform text, make sure your Firebase project is selected.
