Types of roles
Many organizations are organized in a traditional way. They have project managers, business analysts, information analysts, functional and technical designers, developers, testers, and managers. This is analogous to the Waterfall model. What happens to these traditional roles in Agile? It’s a fair question. Roles and responsibilities are organized differently in Agile. Here’s a short overview:
Project managers
Although Agile teams are self-organizing, we still like to have a project manager on Agile projects, especially if the project consists of several teams that are working across different locations, or when there’s a collaboration with external parties. The role of an Agile project manager is extremely different. They’re an enabler for the team. For many traditional project managers, this poses a serious challenge.
