The lifecycle layer

In the sentence “Do fun things with big, loud worker-bees,” the “L” in loud stands for lifecycles. This layer is the part of the process machinery that establishes how each component will start, restart, and stop. In this chapter, we’ll build and configure the OTP supervisors that form the foundation of our lifecycle control, as shown in the following figure:
