Boehm, Barry W. 1988. A Spiral Model of Software Development and Enhancement. IEEE Computer, May 1988. In Cynefin terms, this paper proposes an approach to projects in which each project is initially treated as Complex. Issues are probed until the project’s complete set of challenges is understood well enough to treat the project as Complicated. At that point, the project is completed as a Sequential project.
