The idea of “more effective” Agile is a constantly moving target. No matter how effective you are this year, you can be more effective next year. For growth to take place, however, teams must be allowed to spend time improving. Some of that improvement should happen in the regular cycle of sprint retrospectives and sprint planning, and some improvement should occur during the sprints.
Becoming more effective requires a Growth Mindset—a mindset of “we can get better over time”—which not all leaders have.
