Introduction to Building and Managing API Products

What will we learn?

Previously, we learned about viewing APIs as products and how maturity and governance are established across the API life cycle. In this chapter, we'll start to dig deeper into the process of building and managing API products and learn how to phase this process so that we can do so methodically and systematically.

As we advance an API product from an experimental product to a more mature product, we must continue to develop the product strategy to keep up with evolving customer expectations and stakeholder needs. In this chapter, we'll look at the various aspects of building and managing API products in line with these evolving needs as the API goes through its maturity life cycle.
