Free keyword research tools
Here’s a list of some popular free keyword research tools worth trying.
Google Keyword Planner
Google Keyword Planner is a free tool that helps discover new keywords, estimate their monthly search volumes and discover the average costs to bid on them. Though we need a Google Ads account to access it, it’s not a compulsion to spend money on it. So, technically, keyword planner is free. However, as mentioned in one of the previous lessons, we will have to spend money on an Adwords campaign to see the exact monthly searches for keywords, without which they will only give a range.
Keyworddit
Keyworddit allows us to enter the name of a subreddit, scrape titles and comments within it, and generate a list of keywords from that subreddit. Besides discovering the trending topics in our niche, we can also see the monthly search volumes for each keyword. If we click "Context" in the right-hand column, the tool will take us to the list of threads in Google that include the keyword. Though the tool does not offer as many keyword metrics as the conventional keyword tools, it’s a robust tool for pulling trending topics from Reddit.
